When giving the dimensions, following rules must be observed:
- all dimensions are the internal dimensions of a box;
- all the dimensions are given in millimetres;
- the order and symbols of given dimensions are as follows: length (L) x width (B) x height (H);
- in the case of the cardboard, the width is a dimension concordant with the direction of a flute, the length - perpendicular direction
Selection of cardboard:
In order to make a suitable selection of cardboard, we have to know, for instance:
- the shape of the packed product
- the weight of the packed product
- storing and arrangement of boxes
There should be considered the elements such as resistance of the cardboard to:
- flat and edge crushing(FCT)
- puncture and tearing
- water absorption
All this serves to selection of the optimum cardboard, i.e. the cardboard fulfilling the best conditions at minimization of costs.
Cardboard - material for construction of the packages.
The cardboard is built from one or greater number of layers of the corrugated paper and from one or greater number of the flat layers.
We propose two kinds of the corrugated cardboard (in the white and bleached versions):
- 3-ply two flat layers and one corrugated layer between them,
- 5-ply three flat layers and two corrugated layers between them.
The individual kinds of cardboard can differ from one antother with:
- thickness,
- substance,
- colour,
- strength.
The corrugated separator between the flat layers can have different thickness and shape of a flute, which is crucial for the strength of a package.
The cardboards are marked with the letter symbols:
- E, B, C - for three-ply cardboards and
- BC, BE - for the five-ply cardboards
All the cardboards come from the Polish manufacturers that maintain the highest performance standards.
